Euclid Public Library Might Receive Capital Budget Funds

Euclid Public Library is being considered, along with 13 other public libraries, in Senate Bill 288, which appropriates funding for the One-Time Strategic Community Investment Fund.

The Senate created a $700 million fund, also known as “OTSCIF,” as part of the state’s operating budget. It’s designed to be used as an additional source of funding to help communities and organizations with projects that might not normally meet the funding criteria required for the traditional Capital Budget.  Hearings took place on June 11 & 12. "This additional $700 million gives the General Assembly an opportunity to reinvest in our communities," said Senate President Matt Huffman. "It gave many organizations a second chance for funding, said President Huffman. "These are projects that people notice because they make a difference every day in their neighborhood."

The 2022 Euclid Facility Master Plan identified that in the southeastern portion of Euclid, residents had limited access to library services. As the library begins the renovation, the Mini Station location will serve as a temporary location while work is done at the Main Library.

Euclid Public Library Board of Trustees invites the public to learn more at the July 16, 2024 Board meeting at 6:00 PM.
