Hillcrest Concert Band Returns to EPL in July

One of the finest adult community bands in the nation will fill the garden next to Euclid Public Library with classical music, show tunes, movie soundtracks, and big band songs.

The Hillcrest Concert Band will perform a free concert outside the library on July 16th at 7:30 pm. Including Euclid, Ohio as part of their summer concert season has become an annual tradition for the band. Hillcrest Concert Band has members ranging in age from teens to musicians in their 90s. They pride themselves on having a full complement of instruments represented which allows them to play all genres of music.

According to Music Director Greg Spangler, the July 16th concert will have something for everyone. The songs they will perform are:

Dmitri Shostakovich, trans. James Curnow:  Waltz No. 2, from Suite for Variety Stage Orchestra No. 1 (c. 1956)

Ralph Vaughn Williams:  Sea Songs (1923)

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, trans. Frank Winterbottom:  Children's Intermezzo from Othello (1911)
